Introduction to Bar Chords on the Guitar
We have teamed up with our friend Nate Savage of the Beginner Guitar System to bring you a series of guitar chord lesson that will help you get started fast.
An excellent practice exercise to help build strength in that hand is to make a bar with your index finger and practice playing from fret 1 all the way up the neck and keeping a clean sound when you strum all 6 strings.
This will ensure that you’re pressing hard and firm enough to create the “bar” for each chord.
Understanding bar chords opens up a world of possibilities for where you can play different chords on the guitar neck.
